Connecting an API to an existing system
We connect your system to an external service through an API: payments, warehouse, accounting, delivery — including old .NET applications.
The problem
"Just connect two systems" in practice means understanding both APIs, agreeing on formats, handling errors and not breaking a process that works.
Who it is for
- You need two systems to exchange data without manual entry
- An external service provided an API and there is nobody to connect it
- An old .NET application must be linked to a modern service without rewriting it
What you get
- A working link between the systems with error handling
- An exchange log: you can see what was passed and what failed
- A description: how it is built and what to do in case of a failure
How the work goes
- 01
You describe the process and the systems — through the form or on WhatsApp
- 02
A short conversation and, if needed, a demonstration of how everything works now
- 03
An estimate: what we do, in what order and what we need from you
- 04
Implementation step by step, checked on your data
- 05
Handover: a short instruction and what to do if something goes wrong
What you will need
- The API documentation of the external service and test access, if there is any
- A description of your system: what it is written in, where it runs, who maintains it
- Which data needs to be passed, and in which direction
Limits — honestly
- The possibilities are limited by what the service's API offers — if the needed method does not exist, we discuss workarounds
- We work on a test environment first, if there is one, and only then on the live one
- I confirm the specific systems and the way to connect after the estimate — not every system gives the access needed
- Passwords and access keys are not accepted through the form — we pass them separately once we agree
Example
A distributor runs on its own program built on .NET Framework. Orders must go to a delivery service automatically and the statuses must come back.
